All things to all people

December 12, 2008

CNET columnist Don Reisinger makes some trenchant observations on what Facebook could learn from its competitors in a post here.

Summary: FB should add a music streaming service (MySpace), a profile design tool (Friendster), and a way to share long written pieces (Bebo).

Convergence anyone?

  1. Melissa (Dorsey) McDowell Says:

Facebook’s interface is already so busy, I’d prefer they left the streaming audio to MySpace. The lack of a profile designer I actually don’t mind, Facebook is all about seeing what other people are up to, and I would prefer to click on a profile and know exactly where to look for stuff than have to work it out each and every time.

Now, a Long Post function? Well, that would essentially be a blog and several people have already created Blog apps for Facebook.

    I’m such a party-pooper, eh?
